Momo is one of those Pug mixes that have become so popular, and it’s not hard to see why. She has a great disposition and still retains that Pug cuteness, but she also has very high energy and loves her ball (or in this case Finn’s ball). I had a pleasure shooting Momo and Finn on the same day, so stay tuned for photos of Finn and photos of the two of them.

I just love this shot of Rocky. Not only is he one of the best trained dogs I’ve ever met, but he is also a super sweety. In this shot I feel like he is embodying his wolf ancestors.

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of shooting two super cute lil dogs, Momo and Finn. More to come from their session in the next few days.
As an owner of a fellow bulldog (Charlie is half French Bulldog) Lola has a special place in my heart. Something about these snorting dogs makes me smile and just want to hug them. Lola helps her mom, Erika, out at Rook and Rose a few days a week and can usually be found passed out in front of the cooler.

I have a theory about dog names. I meet more and more dogs with “people names” (my own dog is no exception) and I think it is because dogs are increasingly seen as members of our family. My in-laws have no children, but they have two dogs who they snuggle up on the couch with, and lots of couples get married and get a dog instead of immediately getting pregnant. Since we see them more and more as members of our family we name our pets the same as we could name our kids. Of course, this doesn’t apply to all pets, and I think it is great when owners come up with original names like Banana and Sundae (also I don’t think there is any wrong name for a pet, whereas I would never think of naming my child Apple, or Blue). I joked with Kevin that I wanted to name our dog Kitty, purely for the fun of calling “Here Kitty, Kitty” at the dog park. Needless to say, we went with a different name.
Along with this trend in names, pets are also increasingly welcome in work places. So, I decided I wanted to do a personal project where I photographed some of these dogs at work. I started with Taio (mostly because I already knew him, his owner and where they both worked) from around the corner from me at Frontrunners.
As I photograph these dogs at work I will be publishing a photo, or two, as I go along.
